Ok so remember like a month ago I posted that I was going to do an hour-long kart race at Gateway Kartplex?

First it got rain delayed to the next weekend.

Then it happened. The grid was a random draw, I was 5th and had high hopes because I had set the fastest time of the day previously. But somehow a guy was backwards on my side of the track in turn 2 and I spun trying to avoid, falling back to 18th and finally clawing my way back to 9th. There would be video, but of course I screwed up and didn't have the Gopro turned on when I made it to the grid and therefore couldn't decide if it was off or on, recording or not. Oh well, no big loss there.

Moving on, July 26th was another Ironman race and I needed to try again.

I did better. (sorry for potato-photo)

Did you get hit with the blue shell?

I know it looks like I got hit at the end of that straight, but I’m pretty sure that was just my mistake with too much braking at turn in. That little hit as he came around helped get me going again though.

That race was amazingly clean compared to the one a few weeks before where I got in an incident on lap 1 and never got up past 9th. Bumping everywhere.
